Media3 - Mayor praises Media 3

The Mayor of Gosport, Councillor Derek Kimber has praised Media 3 for its work on this year’s Gosport Waterfront Festival souvenir programme saying the company has “turned a sick parrot into a prancing peacock”.

Media 3 rescued the 2008 Festival programme after a local company failed to raise any advertising revenue in a three month campaign and withdrew from the project in March.

The Council’s Festival working group quickly approved a new budget prepared by Media 3 whose designers came up with a new-look A5 size programme.

“At the time we thought the programme needed to be completely revamped and judging by the response we have had from advertisers and the Festival audiences we have been proved right,” said Brian Seeney, managing consultant of Media 3.

The 16 page programme was over-subscribed with advertisers - both local and national companies - with over 12,000 copies printed by Cambridge Press, the Waterlooville-based printer.

Thousands of copies were distributed before the event by major Festival sponsor Gosport Ferry, ASDA superstore in Dock Road, Gosport, all the local advertisers and also shops in Stoke Road and Gosport High Street.

The Mayor said: “I am more than happy with this year’s programme and well done to everyone for turning a dead parrot into a prancing peacock.”

Media 3 worked on the 2007 Festival programme and for the second successive year produced a budget surplus on the programme that contributed a significant sum to the Council’s overall Festival budget.

“We are very pleased with this year’s programme and we are already looking forward to working with the Council again,” said Brian Seeney.
